Prof. Daniel Cozzolino

Dr. CozzoliProf_Daniel_Cozzolinono is currently Associate Professor of Agriculture within the School of Medical and Applied Sciences at the Central Queensland University (Rockhampton, Queensland.)  He has graduated from the Universidad de la Republica (Montevideo, Uruguay) as an Agricultural Engineer/Agronomist in 1989 and obtained his PhD from the University of Aberdeen (Aberdeen, Scotland) in 1998.  His research career has started in 1993 with the development of infrared applications for a wide range of agricultural products at the National Institute for Agricultural Research (INIA-Uruguay) before joined in 2002 the Australian Wine Research Institute (Senior Research Scientist, Team Leader Rapid Analytical Method) based in Adelaide (South Australia).  Between 2011-2015 he was Research Fellow with the Barley Breeding Program (The University of Adelaide, Adelaide, Australia).  His principal field of research is investigating applications of vibrational spectroscopy (NIR, MIR, VIS) and chemometrics in a wide range of agricultural products.  He is member of the Editorial Board of several journals.  He has published more than 300 articles in refereed journals and book chapters and have published more than 400 miscellaneous publications.  In 2013, he has received the Tomas Hirschfeld Award for his outstanding contributions into the field of NIR spectroscopy.
