Dr. Kin Weng Kong

Dr. King-Weng-KongDr. Kin Weng Kong is a senior lecturer in Department of Molecular Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya. He obtained his first degree in Nutrition and Community Health in 2007 and Master’s Degree in Nutritional Sciences in 2010 from Universiti Putra Malaysia. He joined University of Malaya as a SLAI Fellow in 2011 and received his PhD in Molecular Medicine from University of Malaya in 2015. His PhD was sponsored by Higher Learning Academic Training Scheme from Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia and Bright Sparks Scheme from University of Malaya. He has won several awards at the institutional and national levels such as Silver Medal in International Exposition of Research and Inventions of Institution of Higher Learning in Malaysia and travel award for Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Programme in Science. He is an active researcher and was appointed as the specially invited expert by Agro-food Science and Technology Research Institute, Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, China. He is the editorial board member of numerous renowned journal and serving as eminent reviewer for Food Chemistry. His research work has been published in over 30 articles in international peer-reviewed journals as well as book, chapters and patent. He has H-index of 12 with 552 citations (http://researcherid.com).
