<p>Dietary fibre is responsible for the decrease in the rate of glucose absorption along with aiding decrease in postprandial rise in blood glucose. Substantial research establishes the connection between consumption of wholegrains and type 2 diabetes management. Wholegrains are widely recognized for contributing significantly to our health and well-being as they contain essential nutrients and bioactive compounds, along with being rich in dietary fibre. This review article attempts to discuss the effect of the fibre in wholegrains on blood glucose, type 2 diabetes and HbA1c.</p>
